Good evening and welcome to another edition of Cards and Creations by Lori McBride. My name is Lori McBride and I’m a Stampin’ Up! Independent Demonstrator.

With only 7 Days left to use some of the items in the product suite (only the Timeless Teopical Stamp Set and In The Tropics Dies are carrying over to the 2020-2021 Annual Catalog) and only 3 days left before my son’s Birthday, I thought I’d do something cool and masculine.
Supply List:

Timeless Tropical Stamp Set (Item #151497)
Tropical Oasis Trinkets (Item #151253)
5/16 Braided Burlap Trim (Item #151254)

*EDITOR’S NOTE* All of the supplies from the Timeless Tropical can still be purchased using single Item #153941 for the next 7 days. The DSP, Tropical Oasis Trinkets, Memories & More, Coastal Weave Embossing Folder and 5/16″ Braided Trim will retire June 2nd.
Aside from being just a standard 6″×6″ gift box, I stamped white tissue paper in Old Olive and Soft Suede Ink to create my own custom tissue paper.
*NOTE* This is not a full sheet of tissue paper. It was cut at the first fold line of the tissue paper and then stamped. It fit perfectly inside the 6″×6″ box and then gently folded and tucked over the gift card inside the box.
Thank you so much for joining me at this late hour and reading along. I hope you’ll join me again soon.
Please visit my website at http://www.lorimcbride.stampinup.net for all of the supplies needed to create this project or for any of your Stampin’ needs. Until next time, Happy Stampin’ Everyone!

Good morning and welcome to another edition of Cards & Creations by Lori McBride. My name is Lori McBride and I’m a Stampin’ Up! Independent Demonstrator.
Today I would like to share with you this precious mini easel decoration that I made for an upcoming baby shower.
*DISCLOSER* I found the Mini Easels at Target for $5.00 in September or October with every intention of doing Thanksgiving and Christmas crafts with them. To my surprise, there were four easels in a single pack. After this mixed media project, there will definitely be more projects to come using them.
Supply List:
Basic Rhinestones (Item #144220)
Purple Posy Cardstock (Item # 150881)
Pineapple Punch Cardstock (Item #146971)
Daffodil Delight Cardstock (Item #119683)
Highland Heather Cardstock (Item #146986)
Pineapple Punch Designer Series Paper (no longer available)
1/4″ Grossgain Ribbon Pineapple Punch (no longer available)
Elephant Builder Punch (Item # 145652)
Little Elephant Stamp Set (Item #151237)
Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Item #119755)
Stampin’ Diminsionals (Item #104430)
Mini Stampin’ Diminsionals (Item #144108)
Mini Glue Dots (Item #103683)
Well Written Dies (Item #151816)
Layering Circles Dies (Item #151770)
Assembly Instructions:
Step One: I built the Elephant using the Little Elephant Builder Punch.
Step Two: Using my Stampin Trimmer I trimmed down Highland Heather Cardstock to measure 5 1/4″×6 3/4″. I trimmed the Pineapple Punch Cardstock down to 5″×6 1/2″ and Purple Posy Cardstock down to measure 4 3/4″× 6″. I trimmed the Pineapple Punch DSP to measure 4 1/4″ x 5 3/4″.
Step Three: I wrapped the 1/4″ Pineapple Punch Grossgain Ribbon around the DSP and secured it with Mini Glue Dots. I made the bow and also secured it with Mini Glue Dots.
Step Four: I ran the Layering Circles through my die cutting system and also die cut the “welcome baby” sentiments using the Well Written Dies.
Step Five: I adhered the layers of Cardstock down with Multipurpose Liquid Glue and glued the DSP to the top layer of Cardstock also using the Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
Step Six: I assembled the layered circles and scallops together with the Multipurpose Liquid Glue. I used Mini Stampin’ Diminsionals to adhere the Elephant to the middle of the circles. I adhered the assembled circles and scallops to the center of the easel with Stampin’ Diminsionals.
Step Seven: Using very thin layers of Multipurpose Liquid Glue I adhered the “welcome baby” to the bottom of the easel.
Step Eight: I added Basic Jewel Rhinestones just for effect.
I think this is going to be a really great effect for this baby shower in combination of everything else that I’m doing to make it special for this lovely couple and their new addition to their family. I can totally see it sitting near a guest book and later the mommy to be putting it on a dresser in the baby’s nursery.
I’m really trying to get all of these things made before everything sells out but I’m struggling. It seems almost daily the Retiring stuff is selling out faster than I can make it. It happens this time of year. Please do not wait to order.
Thank you so much for joining me this morning. I hope that you’ve enjoyed today’s tutorial and will join me again soon. Until then, Happy Stampin’ Everyone! #keephealthy #keepstamping #sendsunshine
Good evening and welcome to another edition of Cards and Creations by Lori McBride. My name is Lori McBride and I’m a Stampin’ Up! Independent Demonstrator.
Tonight, I’d like to share with you these adorable treat boxes prepped special delivery for an upcoming baby shower.
Again, I have to apologize that the Pineapple Punch Cardstock and DSP may have sold out with them retiring soon but I can assure you that this project will work out perfectly with any color in our Core Colors and very likely the *NEW* Bumblebee will make a beautiful substitute.
If you’re just now finding this Blog and project and interested in making this project with the Little Elephant Stamp Set and Elephant Builder Punch. PLEASE DO NOT WAIT! Both the Little Elephant Stamp Set and Elephant Builder Punch are on the Retirement List and will be gone forever June 3rd if they don’t sell out before then. The punches are another item that Stampin’ Up is slowly retiring but it is okay. The Layering Circles Dies will work with this project.
The good news is that both the Ruched 1/4″ Daffodil Delight Ribbon and the Purple Posy 1/2″ Scalloped Linen Ribbons are carrying over to the new 2020-2021 Annual Catalog.
Now that we’ve had that whole discussion, let’s jump into how this treat box is made.
First, we’re going to start off with a piece of Cardstock measuring 4″×11″ scored 1″, 5″ 6″ and 10″ on the 11″ side. You will need to rotate the Cardstock to the 4″ side and score at 1″ and 3″. You will need a piece of DSP measuring 1 3/4″ x 3 3/4″.
Next, you’re going to want to fold and burnish those score lines well. So that you have a better understanding of what I did next, I’m going to share several photos for final assembly of the box.
Step One
Step One: Remove the top two small squares at the top of the Cardstock.
Step Two
Step Two: Cut up to the score lines of the two small squares and slightly wedge.
Step Three
Step 3: Cut up to the score line on the small squares at the bottom of the box and remove one square.
I like to fold two of the long flaps back so I can remind myself which part of the box will be my top opening portion so I’m not adding Tear and Tape to that portion of the box. Again, I’m going to show you in photos where I place the tape for final assembly.
Tear and Tape Placement A
On the front side of the box place Tear and Tape on the first long flap, and the two small squares.
Tear and Tape Placement B
Flip your box over and place your Tear and Tape on the medium size flap on the end with the one small square remaining.
Final Assembly: Whew!! If you think that was confusing reading, it’s okay, I had a difficult time explaining it on this end. I would’ve done much better helping someone in a workshop than I have trying to type that out. LOL But at last we made it!
What you’re going to want to do is flip the box back over to where you see the three pieces of Tear and Tape. We’re going to start by removing the piece of Tear and Tape on the small flap in the center of the box and adhere it to the inside of the long flap with the Tear and Tape on the bottom.
Final Assembly Step One
Next, we’re going to remove the Tear and Tape from the long flap and adhere it to the other long flap to create the bottom of the box.
Final Assembly Step Two
Then we’re going to remove the Tear and Tape from the small flap and fold the medium flap without Tear and Tape to seal.
Final Assembly Step Three
Finally, we’re going to remove the Tear and Tape from the medium flap and adhere it over and Viola!! Like magic, we have a box!
Final Assembly Step 4
Adding the Detail:
Now for the fun, let’s get the front of the box decorated. I used Multipurpose Glue to adhere all the circles and scallops together. I put Stampin’ Diminsionals on the back of the Elephant. I also used the Multipurpose Liquid Glue to adhere the DSP to the front of the box and to adhere the Elephant to the front of the box.
I didn’t really measure how much of the Purple Posy Scalloped Linen Ribbon I used, I just sort of closed the top flaps of the box and used a fair amount to tie the bow and trimmed it back a little.
Finished Projects
Thank y’all so much for joining me tonight. For all of the supplies needed to make this project please visit my website at: http://www.lorimcbride.stampinup.net
Until next time, #keephealthy, #keepsmiling and #keepstamping!!

Good evening and welcome to another edition of Cards and Creations by Lori McBride. My name is Lori McBride and I’m a Stampin’ Up! Independent Demonstrator.
On the eve before the Retired List is announced, I’d like to share with you something very special that I’ve been working on.
Before I really jump into this, I do have to say that I do feel slightly guilty that I’m using just a touch of retired product in this project but there just weren’t any real good alternatives right now. I will say that if you see the Large Letter Dies and fall in love with them, I am seeing them pop up here and there second hand in various places.
On the other hand, there’s still a TON of current and retiring soon product in this project.
Personal Note:
I can not express in words how ecstatic in the midst of all of the chaos to find out that a friend of mine is having a baby girl in September. It’s a true honor to be making all of the decor for her baby shower.
Coordinating Colors:
Purple Posy, Pineapple Punch, Highland Heather and Daffodil Delight.
Supplies:
2″ Circle Punch
Layering Circle Dies
2018-2020 In Color DSP
Purple Posy 1/2″ Scalloped Linen Ribbon
Daffodil Delight 1/4″ Ruched Ribbon
Pineapple Punch 1/8″ Grosgain Ribbon
Elephant Builder Punch
Little Elephant Stamp Set
Mini Glue Dots
Multipurpose Liquid Glue
Stampin’ Diminsionals
Mini Stampin’ Diminsionals
Cardstock in Purple Posy, Highland Heather, Pineapple Punch, Basic Black and Daffodil Delight
To begin this project, I ran Largest Scalloped Circle from the Layering Circles dies through the Big Shot to create the Pineapple Punch scallops. I also used the Layering Circles dies for the Purple Posy Circles.
I used the 2″ Circle Punch to Punch out the Pineapple Punch DSP.
Using the Elephant Builder Punch, I created the elephants using Daffodil Delight and Purple Posy Cardstock. I added Mini Stampin’ Diminsionals to the ears to give them some personality.
I used Mini Glue Dots to adhere the streams of ribbon to the back of the scalloped circles.
The Large Letters are Highland Heather Cardstock. They’re glued down with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
I’m always so sad to see certain products retire and the 2018-2020 In Colors are definitely ones that I will miss and hope to see returned one day.
A reminder to Customers: I can’t emphasize this enough. We do not know if we will ever see these colors again. We anticipate that In Color Cardstock, Refills, Ink Pads, Ribbons, Embellishments and Coordinating Designer Series Papers containing the Retiring In Colors will sell out quickly so please DO NOT wait to order!!
Thank you so much for joining me tonight. I hope that you’ll join me again soon! Until then, Happy Stampin’ everyone!!
Good morning and welcome to another edition of Cards and Creations by Lori McBride.
Today, I would like to share with you a very special card that I created for Worldwide Autism Awareness Day.
For those who don’t know, I have an adult son with Autism Spectrum Disorder. He’s 26 years old, he lives at home with us and works part time at a movie theater. As many know, individuals on the Spectrum thrive on repetition and routine. So if you can imagine what it was like for him when COVID-19 shutdown his brand new job, cancelled his weekly Autism Class, his monthly social and his Respite outting all in one day. It wasn’t a good day nor was it an easy day for him or for us.
It isn’t just because of COVID-19 that I made this card. I actually make these annually not only for my son but his award winning team, others we’ve met along the way as well as family and friends who have little ones being diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Today’s card for this very special occasion features the Love You To Pieces Stamp Set (Item #151352) and the Puzzle Pieces Dies (Item #151793)
I started with our standard A2 Cardbase in Blueberry Bushel measuring 4 1/4″×5 1/2″. I also cut a Matte Base in Real Red Cardstock measuring 4″×5 1/4″ and a Matte Base in Whisper White Measuring 3 3/4″×5″. For the puzzle pieces I used scrap pieces of Daffodil Delight, Real Red, Balmy Blue and Blueberry Bushel Cardstocks.
For the “embossed puzzle pieces” I used a reverse die cutting technique.
I adhered the Whisper White embossed Cardstock to the Real Red Base Matte and then adhered the Real Red Matte Base to the Blueberry Bushel Cardbase.
Using mini glue dots, a put the puzzle pieces together and glued them down one by one. For the Blueberry Bushel puzzle piece, I used a Mini Stampin’ Diminsional and purposely didn’t quite put it place.
The “one piece at a time” sentiment from the Stamp Set is perfect for these cards and on the inside of the card I also stamped the blank puzzle piece and the “we just fit” sentiment.
Worldwide Autism Awareness Day is April 2nd and is a celebration of unity that we’re all in this together and is the kickoff of Autism Awareness Month.
Thank you so much for reading along today. I hope you will join me again soon for another edition.
Good morning! Welcome to another edition of Cards and Creations by Lori McBride.
I would like to start out by saying that I love this time of year in Texas. The frigid cold temperatures are behind us, the trees come back to life, the big blue Texas skies are clear and our Texas Tornadoes are beginning to subside. The Indian Paintbrushes, Bluebonnets, Buttercups and other Texas Wildflowers are in full bloom, the grass has turned from brown to green over the lovely North Texas hills and the critters are most definitely out of hibernation. I look forward to seeing my wild rabbits and her babies who come back every single year. My peach tree will soon start budding peach blossoms and I look forward to getting a good harvest this year. Waking up and watching the sun rise over the cow pastures, it’s no wonder this is my favorite time of year and Easter in particular is my favorite holiday.
Today, in celebration of all of that, I would like to share with you this precious card that designed and created using just a handful of products.
I started with our standard cardbase measuring 4 1/4″×5 1/2″ in Purple Posy Cardstock. I die cut the Purple Posy Designer Series Paper with the Stitched Nested Dies. I popped them up using Stampin’ Diminsionals. I die cut the “Happy” in So Saffron Cardstock (I used scraps) and the “Easter” sentiment in Petal Pink Cardstock using the Word Wishes Dies.
On a scrap piece of Whisper White Cardstock, I stamped the flowers from the Easter Promise Stamp Set in Momento Black Ink and hand colored them with the Stampin’ Write Markers in Petal Pink, So Saffron, Purple Posy and Pear Pizzaz. I die cut them using the Layering Circles Dies. I added more dimension by popping the stamped scallop and straight edged So Saffron up with Stampin’ Diminsionals.
I cut a fair amount (sorry – not really sure how much) of the Petal Pink Metallic Edged Ribbon and adhered it down with Mini Glue Dots to the Stitched Nested Die Cut, added the scalloped circle and straight edge circle directly over the top of the ribbon and then added the Stitched Nested die cut to the Cardbase.
For the finishing touch I adhered the “Happy Easter” sentiments down with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
Good evening and welcome to another edition of Cards and Creations by Lori McBride. As everyone is aware COVID-19 aka Coronavirus has unfortunately landed here in the United States. As a result, social distancing and Stay In Place orders have been in effect in many areas. As of this moment, I have suspended all upcoming in home classes until further notice.

I do hope that you will get your kits ordered and join me for these classes.
Most importantly, I hope that you and your family will stay safe and healthy from this terrible illness!
