Easter Promise Card

Good morning! Welcome to another edition of Cards and Creations by Lori McBride.

I would like to start out by saying that I love this time of year in Texas. The frigid cold temperatures are behind us, the trees come back to life, the big blue Texas skies are clear and our Texas Tornadoes are beginning to subside. The Indian Paintbrushes, Bluebonnets, Buttercups and other Texas Wildflowers are in full bloom, the grass has turned from brown to green over the lovely North Texas hills and the critters are most definitely out of hibernation. I look forward to seeing my wild rabbits and her babies who come back every single year. My peach tree will soon start budding peach blossoms and I look forward to getting a good harvest this year. Waking up and watching the sun rise over the cow pastures, it’s no wonder this is my favorite time of year and Easter in particular is my favorite holiday.

Today, in celebration of all of that, I would like to share with you this precious card that designed and created using just a handful of products.

I started with our standard cardbase measuring 4 1/4″×5 1/2″ in Purple Posy Cardstock. I die cut the Purple Posy Designer Series Paper with the Stitched Nested Dies. I popped them up using Stampin’ Diminsionals. I die cut the “Happy” in So Saffron Cardstock (I used scraps) and the “Easter” sentiment in Petal Pink Cardstock using the Word Wishes Dies.

On a scrap piece of Whisper White Cardstock, I stamped the flowers from the Easter Promise Stamp Set in Momento Black Ink and hand colored them with the Stampin’ Write Markers in Petal Pink, So Saffron, Purple Posy and Pear Pizzaz. I die cut them using the Layering Circles Dies. I added more dimension by popping the stamped scallop and straight edged So Saffron up with Stampin’ Diminsionals.

I cut a fair amount (sorry – not really sure how much) of the Petal Pink Metallic Edged Ribbon and adhered it down with Mini Glue Dots to the Stitched Nested Die Cut, added the scalloped circle and straight edge circle directly over the top of the ribbon and then added the Stitched Nested die cut to the Cardbase.

For the finishing touch I adhered the “Happy Easter” sentiments down with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
