Silhouette Nativity Easel Decor

Good morning and welcome to another edition of Cards and Creations by Lori McBride. My name is Lori McBride and I’m a Stampin’ Up! Independent Demonstrator. This is also our monthly Team Stamp it Blog Hop. The theme for our Hop this month is Christmas.

Today, I would like to share with you this mixed media project made with the Nativity Dies and part of the Snowflake Splendor Suite.

Let me start by saying that this is not a Card. I found small wooden easels with a chalkboard front for $5.00 at Target a while back and thought it would be pretty cool to do something different with using Stampin’ Up products. For those who’ve been following for a while, I created a very lovely decor piece for a baby shower not too long ago. This project is easel #2 from the same pack.

*Supplies*

Misty Moonlight Cardstock

Night of Navy Cardstock

Silver Foil

Nativity Dies

Word Wishes Dies

Snowflake Splendor DSP

Blue Gems

Adhesive Sheets

Multipurpose Liquid Glue

Stampin’ Dimensionals

Stampin’ Trimmer

If you’re not familiar with the centimeter side of your trimmer, this is a great project to get familiar with the measurements. I found that it was going to do this project and describe this project using centimeters over inches.

*Measurements*

Misty Moonlight Cardstock 13 cmร—16 cm

Night of Navy Cardstock 12 1/2 cmร—16 1/2 cm

Snowflake DSP 12 cmร—16 cm

*Assembly Instructions*

I attached the Misty Moonlight Cardstock to the front of the easel covering the entire chalkboard surface with Multipurpose Liquid Glue. I added the Night of Navy Matte Base and the DSP with Stampin’ Seal +.

For the Nativity Scene on the from of the easel I really did want the Silhouette effect but I also wanted the majority of them flat so I attached Adhesive Sheets to the back of Misty Moonlight Cardstock and ran them through my Stampin’ Cut and Emboss machine.

I did want some of the pieces to stand out so for the Mary, Joseph and Baby Jesus, I used Stampin Dimensionals and Mini Stampin Dimensionals.

For the final touches, I added Blue Gems and die randomly added to them to the centers of the snowflakes in the DSP. I die cut a star from a scrap of Silver Foil and added a Mini Stampin Dimensional to the back and adhered it to the back.

Good morning and welcome to another edition of Cards and Creations by Lori McBride. My name is Lori McBride and I’m a Stampin’ Up! Independent Demonstrator.

Pacific Point Classic Ink Pad

Pool Party Classic Ink Pad

Snowflake Splendor Designer Series Paper

Stampin’ Write Markers

All the same adhesives and Dies listed in Elves Supply List

Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine

*Just A Couple of Notes*

It is perfectly okay if the Stampin’ Write Markers aren’t your specific preferred coloring method. I do not feel I’ve mastered the Stampin’ Blends to share anything that I’ve tried to create. If you prefer the Stampin’ Blends, you can absolutely use the Stampin’ Blend Markers. Our water color pencils are also another option for this project. The Stampin’ Writes are just my personal go to preference. You take this tutorial or any other tutorial I provide and make it your own! I’m here to inspire you!!

Each piece of 8 1/2″ร—11″ Cardstock will create TWO gift card holders.

*Measurements*

Cardstock 8 1/2″ร—3 1/2″

DSP 3 1/4″ร—2 1/4″ and 3 1/4″ร—1 3/4″

Belly Band 1″ร—9″

*Instructions*

Using just scraps of Whisper White Cardstock, I stamped the elf and snowman images in Momento Black Ink and colored them with the Stampin’ Write Markers.

To determine the appropriate size of the Ovals, I just sort of used my best judgement on which die would fit the images best and ran them through the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine. I also die cut the foil and glitter scalloped ovals at the same time.

I also used scraps of Whisper White Cardstock to stamp and die cut the “Tinsel in a Tangle” and “Sadly it was Frosty’s Last” sentiments and did it exactly the same way I did for the stamped images.

*TIP*

Once you’ve figured out which oval a d rectangular Dies fit the sentiments, you can die cut first and stamp the sentiments when you’re finished die cutting.

Once all of my pieces are die cut, I put Stampin’ Dimensionals on the back of the stamped image and adhered it to the scalloped foil/glitter paper.

I used the scoring blade on the Stampin’ Trimmer to score the Cardstock on the 8 1/2″ (landscape side) at 2″ and turned the Cardstock (still on landscape side) at 2 1/2″. I used my Bone Folder to fold and burnish the score lines.

I did use the Tag Buffet Stamp Set to Stamp “To” and “From” on the back of the gift card holders.

I placed Tear & Tape to the 2 1/2″ flap on both sides as close as I could to the edge creating a pocket to insert gift card.

I also adhered the DSP to the front of the using Tear & Tape.

*TIP*

You can also use Stampin’ Seal or Stampin’ Seal + to do this project but I strongly recommend still using the Tear & Tape to create the pocket as it’s a little bit thinner to ensure that the gift card will fit in the pocket.

For the Belly Band, I simply folded the 1″ร—9″ strip around the gift card base and pinched. I added a small strip of Tear & Tape to secure.

I used Tear and Tape to add Stamped image to the Belly Band. I used Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals to the bottom center of the belly band and secured the stamped rectangle sentiment.

The belly band should slide easily on and off the gift card holder.

*TIP*

Do you have a “Snoopy” in your house? Stop “Snoopy” this Christmas by adding two additional Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back of the sentiment. If you’ve not yet bought the gift cards add the Mini Dimensionals but do not remove the paper backing until after you put the gift card in the holder. Once that paper backing is removed from the Mini Dimensionals, the Belly Band won’t move. “Snoopy” has been stopped in his or her place!

Perfect for any stocking or simply stood up amongst any other gifts under the tree.

*Prize Patrol*

My gift to one lucky follower. Leave a comment on this Blog and be entered to win a FREE Stamp Set. This is definitely a sneak peek of what’s coming in the new January-June Mini Catalog and it’s definitely a “win it before you can buy it” opportunity. I will draw a winner Tuesday, December 1st at 9:00 AM CT.

I really hope that you’ve enjoyed this tutorial and all of my little tips and tricks. Thank you for joining me today and I hope you’ll join me again soon.

Until next time, Happy Stampin’ Everyone!

His Love Card

Good morning and welcome to another edition of Cards and Creations by Lori McBride. My name is Lori McBride and I’m a Stampin’ Up! Independent Demonstrator.

Today, I’d like to share with you a card that I created for my VIP Group on Facebook on the fly. I had no instructions, I had no ideas, I just sort of went with it in what I called “Try It Tuesday.”

*Supply List*

His Love Stamp Set

Crumb Cake Cardstock

Whisper White Cardstock

Soft Suede Classic Ink Pad

Crumb Cake Classic Ink Pad

Gold Embossing Powder

Versamark

Heat Tool

Forever Greenery Ribbon Combo

Stampin’ Blend Markers

Champagne Rhinestones

Stampin’ Seal Ashesive

Momento Black Ink

Bone Folder

Paper Snips

When I sat down with this project, I had general brainstorming but no sketch, no sample card, no real clue what I was going to do, no clue what I was going to use. It was a Stamp Set that I fell in love with when I first opened the Annual Catalog but hadn’t used up until this point. I decided to go Live and do a “Try It Tuesday” video.

I started off just randomly stamping in Soft Suede Ink.

I used Versamark, gold embossing powder and heat tool to emboss the cross and then fussy cut around it. On a scrap piece of Whisper White Cardstock I stamped the wheat images in Momento Black Ink and hand colored them with Stampin’ Blend Markers. I put Stampin’ Dimensionals on the back of the cross image and adhered it over the wheat images. I stamped the “Faith” sentiment in Crumb Cake Ink.

I ran the Very Vanilla ribbon from the Forever Greenery Ribbon Combo Pack over the top of the wheat image and under the cross and adhered it to the back using Stampin’ Seal Adhesive and adhered that piece to the sentiment stamped matte base. I cut off another small piece of ribbon and created a faux bow.

For the final touch, I added Champagne Rhinestones just to add a little interest.

I plan on doing a “stepped up” version of this card soon.

Thank you so much for joining me today. I hope you’ll join me again soon. Until next time, Happy Stampin’ Everyone!

November Paper Pumpkin Alternatives

Good morning and welcome to another edition of Cards and Creations by Lori McBride. My name is Lori McBride and I’m a Stampin’ Up! Independent Demonstrator.

Today, I’d like to share with you an Alternate Project using the November Jolly Gingerbread Paper Pumpkin Kit.

As ya’ll can tell from previous Blogs, the absolute last thing that I needed was more gift card holders.

I do rather wanted to add a few new handmade ornaments to my tree. Here’s the really great part about this project. If you did happen to need the gift card holders, you can always repurpose them after the gift is given and turn them into ornaments for next year.

I literally did these to the box directions and then just used a simple hole punch and a bit of *Snowflake Splendor Ribbon*

I pushed the Ribbon through the hole that I made and tied a knot at the top.

*TIP*

This is also a really great kit to create custom gift tags with. If you’d like to turn your Kit into gift tags, you’d follow the exact same assembly listed above only you’d tie the knot closer to the bottom leaving the two ends open to tape to the gift.

Another really great idea came from my upline that I couldn’t help but to case! Shout out to Tami White on creating this absolutely ADORABLE treat box using the kit and the tissue paper from the kit put that very special touch!

*Supplies For Treat Box*

Cinnamon Cider Cardstock

Stampin’ Trimmer

November Paper Pumpkin Kit

*Measurements*

Cinnamon Cider Cardstock 4 1/4″ร—7″

Score on Landscape (long) side at 2 1/4″, 3 1/4″, 5 1/2″, 6 1/2″

Score on Portrait (short) side at 1″

I hope you enjoyed all of these amazing alternate ideas for this November 2020 Paper Pumpkin Kit. Thank you for joining me today’s edition and hope you’ll join me again soon.

OnStage 2020

Good afternoon and welcome to another edition of Cards and Creations by Lori McBride. My name is Lori McBride and I’m a Stampin’ Up! Independent Demonstrator.

Today, I’d like to share with you my overall thoughts of OnStage@Home experience as this was my very first time ever attending an OnStage Event.

WOW!! What a three days it’s been! I’ve spent the last 2 nights pondering ideas and I’m sure I’ll spend at least 2-3 more nights in design for what’s coming next for the January-June Mini Catalog and Sale-a-bration items.

The new January-June Mini Catalog is amazing and I can’t wait to share with you some of the new goodies that will be arriving. As well as ideas and inspiration to use them!!

It was an honor to see my name scroll across the screen three times, as it was an honor to see friends and team mates as well as other Demonstrators that I follow at the Recognition Event Thursday Night. As me and my family cheered and clapped, I couldn’t help but to dream of an in person event and walking across that stage!

My heart also broke a quite a bit for the Japan Demonstrators being recognized as Stampin’ Up announced the devastating news that they’re pulling out of the Japanese market. As their names and photos flashed across the screen reality struck that these ladies are losing EVERYTHING and I found myself fighting back tears for them. To my Japanese Stampy Sisters, my thoughts are with you as one chapter closes and another one begins. We wish you all the absolute best and pray that another door opens to you!!! (((HUGS)))

Another thrill of this weekend was winning a Pop Up “Mystery Prize!” Some ladies won new Stamp Sets, others won product credit but I drew the “mystery gift!” The mystery gift will be revealed December 1st!! I can’t wait to share what it is when it arrives!!

Pat Benatar has still got it and still completely rocked!! The musical entertainment in between sessions on Friday was also very cool.

The contents of my Swag Box were amazing. My favorite being that extra large, high quality bag!! I’ve found that the bottom zipper compartment absolutely PERFECT for storing Mini catalogs and order forms! Things that don’t mind being flattered and you want to bring with you in presentable condition.

The presentations and the knowledge I gained by attending is undoubtedly going to lead me into 2021 with hope and confidence.

As still considered a newer Demonstrator, I’m truly humbled and thankful for the gift that Sara and Shelli gave to each and all 10,700 Demonstrators attending the OnStage@Home Event!! That was incredible!!!

Congratulations to Misty Moonlight!!! Misty Moonlight is one of our 2020-2022 In Colors and was named the #1 Color of the Year! It’s also one of my favorite colors to use!

Other fun facts we learned today were:

Stampin’ Up welcomed 24,003 NEW Demonstrators during the 2019-2020 Stampin Up year.

There are currently (when this was filmed) 57,040 Demonstrators worldwide.

There was $215 Million Dollars of Product sold.

Stampin’ Up Demonstrators broke a record when the 2020 Annual Catalog dropped in June buying and selling $6.1 million dollars in a single day!

Top 3 most popular stamp set of the year:

Thoughtful Blooms (from the Sale-A-Bration brochure).
Happy Birthday To You (from the Sale-A-Bration brochure). The Dressed To Impress Stamp Set (from last year’s January-June Mini Catalog)

Thank you for joining me today. I hope that you’ll join me again soon. Until next time, Happy Stampin’ Everyone!

Curvy Christmas

Good afternoon and welcome to another edition of Cards and Creations by Lori McBride. My name is Lori McBride and I’m a Stampin’ Up Independent Demonstrator.

Today, I’d like to share with you a project that I created with the new Curvy Christmas Stamp Set and Curvy Dies from the new Curvy Celebrations Suite.

It’s been a little bit since I’ve offered a full tutorial and I apologize for that but as I mentioned between my regular work schedule and preparing for OnStage and my first craft show, it’s been a bit busy this fall.

Some of the items I’ve been working on for the show will have additional tutorials a little bit later on.

*Supply List*

Quite Curvy Variety Bundle Item #158396

Shaded Spruce Classic Ink Pad Item #147088

Shaded Spruce Cardstock Item #146981

Whisper White Cardstock Item #100730

Stampin’ Dimensionals Item #104430

Stamparatus Item #146276

Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine Item #149653

*Measurements*

Shaded Spruce Cardstock 5 1/2″ ร— 4 1/2″ (Card Base)

Whisper White Cardstock 5 1/4″ ร— 4 1/4″ (Matte Base)

*Assembly Instructions*

Using a piece of the Shaded Spruce DSP from the Classic Christmas (included with the purchase of Quite Curvy Variety Bundle) and ran the Curvy Dies through the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine on the straight edges of the DSP.

Using the Stamparatus, I mounted the Stamps and aligned the Whisper White Cardstock and prepared for stamping.

*TIP*

I used the magnets from the Stamparatus to hold not only the Whisper White Cardstock but also the the DSP so I could ensure that the stamps would align properly with the DSP.

I inked up the stamps with the Shaded Spruce Classic Ink Pad. I removed the Whisper White Cardstock from the Stamparatus and used Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back of the DSP and secured them in place.

To adhere the card front to the Card Base I used a little Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

The final touch to this card were the Gold Guilded Gems.

*Just a Note*

If you do not have a Stamparatus, the Stamps can be mounted “F” Block.

Thank you so much for joining me today. I hope you’ll join me again soon. Until then, Happy Stampin’ Everyone!

OnStage Recognitions

Good evening and welcome to another edition of Cards and Creations by Lori McBride. My name is Lori McBride and I’m a Stampin’ Up Independent Demonstrator.

I’m beyond blessed to be attending my very first OnStage@Home Event. Although this is a Virtual Event, I’m so beyond ecstatic to have received notification from Stampin’ Up to be recognized for the following accomplishments:

A very special thanks to my family, friends, followers, Customers and Team Mates who’ve stood beside me through the 2019-2020 Stampin’ Up year. Without your love and support, words of encouragement, none of this would’ve been possible!!

As we march into the new Stampin’ year my hopes, dreams and prayers are that I continue to grow, thrive and flourish headed into 2021 and continue to share and inspire as I go.

During and after the OnStage event, I’m looking forward to sharing with you many of the new products coming soon in Stampin’ Up’s new January-June Mini Catalog formerly known as our “Occasions Catalog.”

Thank you so much for joining me tonight. Until next time, Happy Stampin’ Everyone!
