Congratulations Cards

Good morning and welcome to another edition of Cards and Creations by Lori McBride. My name is Lori McBride and I’m a Stampin’ Up Independent Demonstrator from Joshua, TX.

As I mentioned in previous Blogs, the Borders To Backgrounds Stamp Set truly inspired me to create more.

Today, I combined the Borders To Backgrounds with the Happy Thoughts Stamp Set and stepped up the design differently from what I’ve done in days prior.

*Supply List*

Cardbase 4 1/4″×11″ scored at 5 1/2″

Matte Base 4″×5 1/4″

Matte Base 3 5/8″×4 7/8″

These were really just fun and bright and colorful cards to make.

I started off by simple stamping the Basic White Cardstock and layering the Cardbase and Matte Base with Stampin’ Seal.

For the stamped Basic White, I raised that Matte Base up with Stampin Dimensionals.

I stamped the “Congratulations” sentiment from the Happy Thoughts Stamp Set in Momento Black Ink and punched it out with the Tailored Punch. I added Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back of the sentiment and adhered it down.

I created the bows and used Mini Glue Dots to secure them in place.

For the finishing touch, I used my Take Your Pick to and added just a few of the Artistry Bloom Self Adhesive Sequins.

Butterfly Brilliance Update

Good morning and welcome to another edition of Cards and Creations by Lori McBride. My name is Lori McBride and I’m a Stampin’ Up Independent Demonstrator from Joshua,TX.

Today, I’d like to share with you some unfortunate news. The Butterfly Bijou 6×6″ Designer Series Paper has sold out. When Butterfly Brilliance launched, Stampin’ Up announced that both Butterfly Bijou and the Natural Touch DSSP were only available while supplies last.

Now that Butterfly Bijou has sold out it does mean that the Butterfly Brilliance Collection is no longer available to purchase however; items from the Collection will be available for separate purchase including:

Natural Touch DSSP (while supplies last)

Butterfly Brilliance Bundle (Stamp Set and Dies)

Butterfly Brilliance Stamp Set

Brilliant Wings Dies

While it is disappointing that the Butterfly Bijou Paper has sold out, it is our understanding that there’s still ample supply left of what’s remaining of the Collection and it’s a great set to work with.

I will be sharing just a few ways that the Butterfly Brilliance Stamp Set and Brilliant Wings Dies can be used just by themselves next week.

Now that the Butterfly Bijou Paper has sold out, I imagine that the Natural Touch DSSP will also sell out pretty quickly. I can’t empathize this enough – Don’t wait!

Thank you so much for joining me today. I hope that you’ll join me again soon for another edition.

Until next time – Happy Stampin Everyone!!!

Ornate Style Spring Card

Good morning and welcome to another edition of Cards and Creations by Lori McBride. My name is Lori McBride and I’m a Stampin’ Up Independent Demonstrator from Joshua, TX.

Today I’d like to share with you a card I created with the Ornate Style Stamp Set and Ornate Border Dies.

Spring is most definitely in the air here in North Texas and it won’t be long before all of the stunning colors of spring come to bloom.

Spring is most definitely my favorite time of year. We’ve already started to see more bunnies hopping around the yard and things are trying to bloom.

Unfortunately, the brutal winter storm did kill the majority of my tulips and completely killed my daffodils that bloomed for the first time in nearly 3 years in this house. The saddest casualty may be my peach tree. I’d always wanted to have one in the yard, saw it as a good omen when we bought the house and have enjoyed every season with may be now a total loss. I’m trying to give her a little more time to see what’s going to happen.

With all of that being said, I think that’s really the main reason why I’m feeling a bit more “flowery” these days.

*Supply List*

Ornate Style Stamp Set

Ornate Border Dies

Stitched Rectangle Dies

Silver Foil Sheets

In Color 6×6 DSP

Blackberry Bliss Stripped Ribbon

*Cardstock*

Just a few notes about the Ornate Garden. Items can be purchased separately, as a Bundle with 10% savings or as a Mega Suite that includes 2 Stamp Sets, 2 Die Sets, Designer Series Specialty Paper and Ribbon Combo Pack saving 20% because of the Bundles included.

Thank you so much for joining me today. I hope that you’ll join me for another edition soon.

Sand & Sea Card

Good morning and welcome to another edition of Cards and Creations by Lori McBride. My name is Lori McBride and I’m a Stampin’ Up Independent Demonstrator from Joshua, TX.

Today, I’d like to share with you a card that I created using the Sand and Sea Suite from the January-June Mini Catalog along with some other goodies that already existed in my craft room.

*Disclosure*

Before we begin, I would like to make this very clear. This design wasn’t fully designed by me. I originally found the idea on Pinterest as I struggled with a design concept for the Sand & Sea Suite. I’m accrediting the idea of this card to Cheri’s Cards on Pinterest.

I will also state that this is not a “true case” meaning that I have added my own personal touches to this to make it my own.

As the weather begins to warm up here in North Texas my mind can not stop itself from wandering to the sun on my face, toes in the sand and salty air.

*Supply List*

Sand & Sea Suite

Tasteful Labels Dies

Smooth Sailing Dies

Love You Always Foil Sheets

Forever Fernery Trim Combo Pack

Gold Hoops Embellishments

*Cardstock*

Sahara Sand

Blushing Bride

Basic White

Vellum

*Inks*

Blushing Bride

Sahara Sand

Rococo Rose

*Adhesives*

Multipurpose Liquid Glue

Mini Glue Dots

Stampin’ Dimensionals

Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals

*Other Helpful Tools*

Take Your Pick Tool

Bone Folder

Paper Snips

Stampin’ Trimmer

Stampin’ Cut and Emboss machine

*Measurements*

Cardbase – Sahara Sand – 4 1/4″×11″ scored at 5 1/2″

Matte Base – Blushing Bride – 4″×5 1/4″

Mount Base – Sahara Sand – 3 3/4″×5″

Foil Sheets – 1 1/4″×4 3/4″

*Assembly Instructions*

The first thing I did was emboss the foil sheets using the 3D Embossing Folder from the Sand & Sea Suite and adhere them down to the mount base cardstock. I also adhered the mount base to the matte base.

By doing this you give yourself a solid foundation to continue to build your card front.

*TIP*

I did not emboss the foil sheets all at once. I embossed them in sections to ensure proper alignment.

*Instructions Continued*

I trimmed a piece of the Forever Fernery Ribbon and pulled a couple of the threads up to scrunch the fabric and glued them to the gold hoop embellishments with Mini Glue Dots.

I applied Stampin’ Seal Adhesive to the embossed card front to where the scrunched ribbon would hide the adhesive and secured the hoop in place.

*TIP*

Do not pull the thread all the way through the ribbon. The pulled threads are no big deal. Once the loop is secured to the card front you can trim them away.

I stamped the “love you” sentiment on a scrap of Basic White Cardstock and used the Tasteful Labels Dies to die cut it out. I also stamped the seashells and die cut them out using the Seashell Dies from the Sand & Sea Suite and die cut the seagrass using the Sail Away Dies and Vellum.

*Final Assembly*

To complete this card I collaged the seashells using Stampin’ Dimensionals, Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals and Mini Glue Dots and added the Opal Pearls from the Sand & Sea Suite.

The final step was separating the seagrass using a pair of paper snips and adhering them in place using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

*Inside Cardbase*

For the inside of this card, I stamped the “unique” sentiment and seashell in Blushing Bride and the sand in Sahara Sand.

*Final Thoughts*

Another great thought I had while working on this card is the retired Sea of Textures Stamp Set and Dies. I may just for laughs and giggles pull them out just to play.

Thank you so much for joining me today. I hope that you’ll join me again soon.

Butterfly Brilliance Triple Fold Card

Good morning and welcome to another edition of Cards and Creations by Lori McBride. My name is Lori McBride and I’m a Stampin’ Up Independent Demonstrator from Joshua, TX.

Today, I’d like to share with you a card I created using the *Butterfly Brilliance Collection* along with just a couple extra goodies from the Annual Catalog and the January-June Mini Catalog.

From the time I saw the Butterfly Bijou 6×6 Designer Series Paper I knew I had to do an Easter card with it. The palette in this paper is stunning and absolutely perfect for spring and Easter cards and creations!!! Breathtaking beautiful!!

Our time with Purple Posy is running out and I just want to use as much of it as I possibly can before our time is up! Although technically Purple Posy isn’t even a color in the Butterfly Bijou 6×6 Designer Series Papers, there are shades of Highland Heather that make this totally possible!

*Supply List*

Butterfly Brilliance Collection

Springtime Joy Stamp Set

Pastel Pearls

Purple Posy Ribbon

2″ Circle Punch

2 1/4″ Circle Punch

*Cardstock*

Highland Heather

Purple Posy

Mint Macaron

Basic White

*Ink*

Highland Heather

Momento Black

*Stampin Blend Markers*

Light and Dark Highland Heather

Light and Dark Purple Posy

Light and Dark Mint Macaron

Light and Dark Petal Pink

Light and Dark So Saffron

Light and Dark Crumb Cake

*Adhesives*

Stampin’ Seal

Stampin’ Dimensionals

*Other Helpful Tools*

Stamparatus or Clear Block F

Stamp Shammy

Take Your Pick Tool

Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine

This Triple Fold Card was so easy and simple to make.

*Measurements*

Cardbase Highland Heather 4 1/4″×11″ scored at 1 3/16″, 5 1/2″ and 6 3/4″

Basic White 2 1/2″×4″ (2×)

DSP 1″×4″

DSP 2 1/2″×4″

DSP 4″×4″

Belly Band Purple Posy 1″×11″

*Instructions*

I started off mounting the Butterfly Stamp into the Stamparatus and inking just the one butterfly in Momento Black Ink on one of my 2 1/2″×4″ pieces and using the Dies to die cut it out and hand colored it using the Stampin’ Blend Markers.

I created the Cardbase and cut all of the DSP using my Stampin’ Trimmer and adhered them down using Stampin’ Seal.

From the score lines you simply fold to create your triple fold and add your DSP with your Stampin’ Seal.

I stamped the egg basket from the Springtime Joy Stamp Set in Momento Black Ink and hand colored them with the Stampin’ Blend Markers. I stamped the Easter sentiment using the same Stamp Set in Highland Heather Classic Ink.

I created the belly band by folding over the card and pinching in place. I added a small amount of Stampin’ Seal to one side of the belly band to close. I cut off a fair amount of ribbon and adding it to the front of the belly band having added Stampin’ Seal to the back.

From a scrap of Mint Macaron I punched a Circle from the 2 1/4″ Circle Punch and from a scrap of DSP punched a Circle from the 2″ Circle Punch. I added Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back of the Butterfly and attached to the belly band with Stampin Seal.

For the final touch I added the Pastel Pearls using my Take Your Pick Tool.

Thank you so much for joining me today. I hope that you’ve enjoyed this tutorial and will join me again soon for another edition.

The Butterfly Brilliance Collection is now available to everyone and features a lovely Bundle (Stamp & Die Set) Designer Series Paper and Designer Series Specialty Paper.

The Stamp and Die Set are a Pre-Annual Catalog Launch but the Collection features two Special Edition Items. The Butterfly Bijou 6×6 Designer Series Papers and the Natural Touch Specialty Paper are only available while supplies last between now and May 3rd.

I will indicate which items came from the January-June Mini Catalog with an MC and which items came from the Annual Catalog with an AC.

The list of products used on this card totally overwhelmed even me. It also goes to show that sometimes having a large collection at your fingertips can come in handy with Stamp Sets and Dies do not come with sentiments or other images.

I love sets like this where there’s such an open range of creativity to be had. It’s fun to just mix and match and just kind of go with it.

I hope you’ve enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed making it.

Thank you so much for joining me today. I hope you’ll join me again soon for another edition soon.

April “So Cool” Paper Pumpkin Info

Good morning and welcome to another edition of Cards and Creations by Lori McBride. My name is Lori McBride and I’m a Stampin’ Up Independent Demonstrator from Joshua, TX.

Today I’d like to share with you the information for April’s Paper Pumpkin Kit.

For those who are familiar with Paper Pumpkin, this is going to be a “Hot Kit.” I imagine that this Kit will sell out before the end of the Subscription period.

This month’s Kit is named “So Cool” and features the following:

ABOUT THE APRIL KIT

Name So Cool

Details

  • Kit includes enough supplies to make 12 fresh, fun-shaped cards—6 popsicles and 6 blank semicircles to color—and coordinating envelopes. Kit includes card bases, 2 full sticker sheets, decorative die-cut pieces, embellishments, and more.
  • Envelope size: 4-1/2″ x 5-3/4″ (11.4 x 14.6 cm)
  • Coordinating colors: Blackberry Bliss, Bermuda Bay, Bumblebee, Cinnamon Cider, Old Olive, Terracotta Tile
  • Coordinates with the Ice Cream Corner Suite from our January–June 2021 Mini Catalog.

Earlier I mentioned that I thought that this is going to be a “hot kit.” That means that EVERYONE is going to want this one. The Ice Cream Corner Suite has been in high demand and has gone into backorder and not orderable status on more than one occasion since the launch of the January-June Mini Catalog. It is currently sitting in “Low Inventory Status” right now. I can not emphasize this enough – DO NOT WAIT!!

Ice Cream Corner Suite

The Ice Cream Corner Suite Includes everything you see pictured above and can be ordered using a single Item #155984

For those who aren’t familiar with our Paper Pumpkin Kits.

The Paper Pumpkin Kit is a monthly all inclusive kit, no obligation kit that can be delivered to your mailbox each and every month.

The Subscription Period begins on the 11th day of each month and ends on the 10th day of the following month.

Subscriptions can be monthly or prepaid in 1 month, 3 month, 6 month or 12 month intervals.

For those who choose the monthly option, there’s no contract or committment period on Paper Pumpkin Subscriptions. The account can be cancelled or suspended at any time and can also be reactivated at any time.

The Kits are often cards but can also be 3D projects.

The Kits are great for beginners because they always include instructions and are a great way to start a Stamp Set and Ink Supply.

The Kits are also great for the intermediate and avid crafter as there’s always room to add more creativity to each kit.

The kit costs just $22.00 and that includes shipping and handling.

The Kits are not guaranteed and do occasionally sell out before the end of the Subscription period. There are a couple of tips I can give you in making sure that your kit is guaranteed:

Sign up to receive them automatically each month. What’s the real harm? You can suspend it at anytime if you need to.

If you do have to suspend your account for any reason, make sure you reinstate it right away the following month.

Keep your account active! Anyone who’s considered “an active Paper Pumpkin Subscriber” is guaranteed a Kit.

If you choose the prepaid Paper Pumpkin route, subscribe right away!! Do not wait until the last minute to subscribe. If the kit does sell out before your prepaid subscription goes in, you will be sent the following month’s Kit.

New Subscribers also need to subscribe right away at the beginning of the Subscription period. If a kit sells out before you Subscribe, your Subscription will start the following month and you may miss out on the kit you really want.

I believe in the past Stampin’ Up has also offered new subscribers who subscribed to a sold out kit a previous month’s Kit as well.

The bottom line is that it’s NEVER a good idea to wait until the last minute to subscribe to a Paper Pumpkin Kit.

The Subscription Period for April’s “So Cool” Paper Pumpkin Kit begins today (March 11th) and will end on April 10th.

To guarantee your Kit subscribe today by clicking the following link:

Thank you so much for joining me today. I hope you’ll join me again soon for another edition.

Borders To Backgrounds Card

Good morning and welcome to another edition of Cards and Creations by Lori McBride. My name is Lori McBride and I’m a Stampin’ Up Independent Demonstrator from Joshua, TX.

The other day I shared a card that I created for the Stampin’ Up Color Challenge. Today, I’d like to share with you a second card I created using the same design.

When I create a design for something that is specific for either a little girl or a little boy, I try to use the same design to create a card and show diversity for the opposite gender so when I saw that the Color Challenge Card was geared more towards a little boy, I definitely had to show the same sample appropriately for a little girl.

As I mentioned in my previous Blog, I can totally see this for being a baby shower card, a birthday card or even a graduation (I’m thinking kindergarten) or any other type of celebration or occasion where Congratulations would be appropriate.

The great thing about this particular card is that you can use any combination of colors and or Stamp sets, punches or Dies to mix this one up. Stay tuned because there will definitely be more to come!!
