Good morning and welcome to another edition of Cards and Creations by Lori McBride. My name is Lori McBride and I’m a Stampin’ Up! Independent Demonstrator.
Today, I’d like to share with you a card that I created using the Fireside Trimmings Bundle along with a few other goodies you may have noticed or possibly missed in the new holiday Mini Catalog.
*Supply List*
Fireside Trimmings Bundle
Black Glitter Paper
Iridescent Pearl’s
Cobweb Embossing Folder
Adhesive Sheets
Mini Glue Dots
Stampin’ Dimensionals
Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals
Multipurpose Liquid Glue
Stampin’ Seal
Basic Black Cardstock
Blackberry Bliss Cardstock
Smoky Slate Cardstock
Bumblebee Cardstock
Whisper White Cardstock
Bumblebee Classic Ink Pad
Stampin’ Write Markers
*Measurements*
Cardbase Basic Black 4 1/4×5 1/2″
Matte Base 4″×5 1/4″
*Assembly Instructions*
I started by running the Cobweb Embossing Folder through my *NEW Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine*
I added Adhesive Sheet to the back of the Black Glitter Paper and die cut the bat Garland, the frame, the branches and that little fireplace thingamajig from the Fireside Dies and set them aside. I also die cut the flames for the fire from a scrap of Bumblebee Cardstock at that time.
I stamped, handcolored and die cut all of the little pieces. The lantern, vase, wood in the fire, potion bottles, candles and pumpkins.
I stamped Momento Black Ink onto Smoky Slate Cardstock and die cut it out.
Doh! One thing I forgot to mention in the Supply List earlier on was the “Happy Happy Halloween” sentiment. That sentiment is borrowed from my *Little Treats Bundle* but it is stamped in Bumblebee Ink using the Classic Stamp Pad and die cut with the Fireside Dies. There is a “Have a Spooktacular Night” sentiment in the Fireside Stamp Set but as I was putting things together, I thought it was a better fit for the inside of the Card rather than the outside.
Now that I’ve had my Blogging Blooper for the day and all of my pieces to my card are all set to go…
*Final Assembly*
I started with the fireplace. I added the bat Garland and that little fire thingamajiger that holds the wood logs.
I glued the flames together with Mini Glue Dots and then glued them to the logs. I added Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back of the logs and secured them to the log holder thingamajig I keep talking about.
I used my Stampin’ Seal adhesive to adhere my Matte Base to my Cardbase and then used Multipurpose Liquid Glue to the back of the fireplace to secure it down.
I added a Mini Glue Dot to the candle and set it inside of the lantern and then added a Mini Stampin’ Dimensional to secure the lantern to the mantel. I also added Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals to the backs of the potion bottles and vase.
I secured the branches in the vase but I noticed that the project was still missing a little something. I ended up pulling out those new Iridescent Pearl’s and I think it was just enough to really give the project that final touch it was needing.
I assembled the two pieces of the frame together and added Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back. I added Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back of the pumpkins and secured them in place.
*NOTE*
One final note about this project. Originally my idea was to die cut the Spider from the Little Treats Bundle in Black Glitter Paper and secure him to the Cobweb Embossing but it didn’t work out. The spider was just too big for the project. He didn’t go to waste. I ended up using him as an accent piece on the inside of the Card along with the “Spooktacular Night” sentiment from the Fireside Trimmings Stamp Set.
For all of my Vlogger friends out there, this Blog is definitely for you!! I hope ya’ll got as good of a laugh at reading this one as I’ve had writing it. Thank you all so much for joining me. Until next time, Happy Stampin’ Everyone!!

Good evening and welcome to another edition of Cards and Creations by Lori McBride. My name is Lori McBride and I’m a Stampin’ Up! Independent Demonstrator.
Tonight I’d like to share with you this little Halloween Treat Box I created using the Little Treats Bundle and just a few other goodies from our Mini Catalog.
*Supplies*
Little Treats Bundle
Black Glitter Paper
Iridescent Pearls
Cobweb Embossing Folder
Organdy Ribbon
Smoky Slate Cardstock
Whisper White Cardstock (scrap)
Momento Black Ink
Black Stampin’ Dimensionals
Adhesive Sheets
Now, there are many things that I love about designing my own treat boxes but I also enjoy sharing ideas for our new paper crafters who may not have as much experience as our advanced crafters.
The Little Treats Bundle makes it super easy because all of the lines are cut and scored using the Dies. All you have to is assemble the box which is again super easy because this box requires ZERO adhesive!!
*Assembly Instructions*
Using a 4″ × 5 1/2″ piece of Smoky Slate Cardstock I ran the box die through my *NEW* Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine.
Next I placed in the Cobweb Embossing Folder and again ran in through the machine and assembled the box.
I stamped the “Happy Happy Halloween” sentiment in Momento Black Ink on a scrap piece of Whisper White Cardstock and cut the scallop circle using the Little Treats dies.
I put small pieces of adhesive sheet on the back of the Black Glitter Paper and die cut the spiders.
I added Black Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back of the scalloped sentiment and adhered it to the front of the box. I removed the paper backing from the back of the spiders, arranged and adhered in place.
Using my Take Your Pick Tool, I placed the iridescent pearls in place. Lastly, I cut a small amount of the Organdy Ribbon, ran it through the the holes provided from the box die and tied a knot and Abracadabra! Magically, a super adorable treat box is complete!
Thank you so much for joining me tonight. I hope you’ll join me again soon. Until next time, Happy Stampin’ Everyone!
Good morning and welcome to another edition of Cards and Creations by Lori McBride. My name is Lori McBride and I’m a Stampin’ Up! Independent Demonstrator.
Last week Stampin’ Up made probably one of their biggest announcements ever! As many may know 2020 has been a considered a transition year for our catalogs. It appears some changes will also take place with our upcoming Sale-a-bration period.
Sale-a-bration is a fun and exciting time for Customers and Demonstrators as we get to earn all of those wonderful free goodies. Nothing is going to be changing as far as earning them. What is going to be changing is the earning periods.
Normally, Sale-a-bration would begin in January and end March 31st. They’re shortening that earning period just a little bit. Sale-a-bration will run January and February and adding a second Sale-a-bration earning period in July and August 2021. Where it shortens our initial earning period from 3 months to 2 months, it overall extends the Sale-a-bration earnings to 4 months throughout the year.
I’m really excited to see these changes and how they work out and of course what Stampin’ Up has in mind for us during these two separate earning periods. Stay tuned for more info as it becomes available soon!!
For those who may not know what Sale-a-bration is, it is a Promotion that Stampin’ Up has done annually. There are two levels of earning. Level 1 is when you spend $50.00 with your Stampin’ Up! Independent Demonstrator you can earn one FREE item off our Level 1 Rewards. Spend $100.00 with your Stampin’ Up! Independent Demonstrator and earn one FREE Level 2 or two FREE Level 1 items.
These free items are amazing and so fun to create with. I look forward to sharing with you all of the new Sale-a-bration items soon.
Thank you so much for joining me today. I hope you’ll join me again soon. Until next time, Happy Stampin’ everyone!

Good morning and welcome to another edition of Cards and Creations by Lori McBride. My name is Lori McBride and I’m a Stampin’ Up! Independent Demonstrator.
Today, I’d like to share with you this Card created with the *Autumn Goodness Bundle* and the *Banner Year Stamp Set*
In the Texas heatwave of August, there’s no better time to think of pumpkins, leaves changing colors, hay rides, hoodies and bonfires than August. We’re beyond roasting down here with temperatures often well above 120° with the heat index. I have a tradition for the 1st of September (even if it’s 120° outside) to make my first batch of chili as good omen that cooler weather will begin to arrive.
Blackberry Bliss Cardstock 4 1/4″×11″ scored at 5 1/2″
Cajun Craze Cardstock 4″×5 1/4″
Very Vanilla Cardstock 2 1/4″×3 3/4″
Plaid Tidings DSP 2″×3 3/4″
*Assembly Instructions*
Stamp the sentiment from the Autumn Goodness Stamp Set on the Very Vanilla Cardstock.
Stamp the wheelbarrow, wheel, pumpkin arrangement and corn husks and hand color with the Stampin’ Write Markers. Run them with the Dies through your die cutting machine. I also die cut the picket fence at the same time.
Aligning the picket fence up with the DSP, add Stampin’ Seal to the back of the DSP and slide it under the picket fence. Then secure the picket fence down with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
Next, again using your Stampin’ Seal, secure your stamped Very Vanilla Cardstock to the top.
*Note* It is okay for the Very Vanilla and the DSP to overlap slightly. You will not see it once you cover the seam with ribbon and neither will the recipient of this card.
Flip the Matte Base over and add just a smidge of the Stampin’ Seal+ to the back of it where the Very Vanilla Cardstock and DSP meet and add secure your ribbon across the front and secure at the other end and then trim. Cut a small amount of ribbon to add knot or “faux bow” to the front.

Add Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back of your corn husks and wheelbarrow/pumpkin arrangement.
Inside Cardbase
For the inside Cardbase, I cut a Very Vanilla Matte Base measuring 4″×5 1/4″ and stamped both sentiments from the Autumn Goodness Stamp Set and I just couldn’t resist that “Happy Fall Ya’ll” sentiment from the Banner Year Stamp Set. (Also available as a Bundle in the Holiday Mini Catalog) After all, I is a Texan!!!
*Special Note* I’m not sure if I’ve mentioned this in my Blog before but I work part time at a farm (and full time over the holidays) and so I made a very large batch of these to give to the farm owners, my farm supervisor and coworkers that I work with on the farm to close out our Pumpkin Days tradition the first part of November.
Thank you so much for reading along today. I hope you’ll join me again soon. Until then…Happy Stampin’ Everyone!!
*Stampin’ Reminders*
We’re heading into the final days of Bonus Days Coupon Code Redemption Period so please don’t forget to redeem those.
It’s still not too late to subscribe to September’s Paper Pumpkin Kit. You’re not going to want to miss out on these kits over the next few months!
Good afternoon and welcome to another edition of Cards and Creations by Lori McBride. My name is Lori McBride and I’m a Stampin’ Up! Independent Demonstrator.
Today, I’d like to share with you something different. As many of you may know or not know on Saturday I achieved my 1st Anniversary as a Stampin’ Up! Independent Demonstrator.
I think this is a very significant time to reflect upon this past year as we’re rapidly approaching OnStage Event – where Demonstrators are recognized for all of their achievements for the past year.
When I reflect back on this past year, I signed up, I thought it was going to be just to save 20% on my hobby, making cards and 3D projects and home decor for family and friends. No matter what, family and friends will never stop being my primary focus for what I do.
Then, I reached my first quick start goal, followed my next quick start goal. And then Abracadabra! Like magic, I received my first Stampin’ Up Promotion!! It was right about then I began to get excited and dream and wonder and began to seriously contemplate trying to establish my hobby, my love and my joy as a business. It was right as I began this Blog and here we are nearly 70 Blogs later.
Suddenly and quite literally overnight Stampin’ Up! has become a full time job with late night craft sessions and quite literally falling asleep with phone in hand trying to get Blogs ready for next day publishing.
When I think about my first year with Stampin’ Up, I often compare it to a first year of marriage. It’s had it’s ups but it has has had its downs as well. Especially as COVID-19 hit the United States and is still running rampant through Texas. I watched as plans and opportunities slipped through my fingers faster than I could actually make them. But I’m still here, still standing and I think that does say a lot.
I’m very thankful and very blessed to have such an amazing family who’ve stood beside me, amazing friends who’ve encouraged me, amazing team members who’ve kept me level headed, amazing leadership trying to guide me through the shark infested waters and amazing followers. None of that would be possible without amazing products from an amazing company that continues to inspire me to create every single day.
My hopes, dreams and aspirations have not dimmed during 2020 but will push me to the extreme in 2021! I have BIG plans with or without COVID-19 and I can not wait to share with everyone everything that I’ve got going on.
My work schedule at the farm will kick into high gear in September but no worries. Some of the radio silence that ya’ll have been experiencing on the Blog has been me working ahead in preperation for that. However, maybe not quite as many as maybe some are used to. I will still be able to let ya’ll know about any specials, sales and promotions that Stampin’ Up will offer and there will definitely be more projects coming soon.
Thank you so much for reading along with me today. I hope that you’ll join me again soon. Until next time Happy Stampin’ everyone!
