Good morning and Welcome to Day 7 and final day of my 7 Projects In 7 Days. No Valentine’s Day projects would be complete without a Valentine’s Day Card for those super special people in your life! Whether it be a partner, spouse, child or parent, this card is PERFECT!

Today’s project is a Fun Fold Valentine’s Day Card using the From My Heart Suite (Item #153931), the Forever Blossoms Stamp Set (Item #151457) and the Rectangular Stitched Dies. (Annual Catalog Item #148551) In addition, I found that this was a great project to incorporate some of that unused retired red glimmer paper from the Holiday Catalog.

If you are a new customer, I do apologize for this but I would like you to know that any of our Glimmer Papers still available (Silver, Gold, Rose Gold or Sparkle) do look absolutely stunning on this project. When I designed this card, the red glimmer paper was still active and Stampin’ Up had not announced it’s retirement.

To begin today’s tutorial, you’re going to need Real Red Cardstock cut down to 10 1/2″×5 1/2″ and score at 2 5/8″, 4 5/8″ and 6 5/8″.

You will need two pieces of the From My Heart Designer Series Specialty Paper. The first one measuring 5″×2 1/2″ and the second piece measuring 5″×1″.

You’ll also need two pieces of Whisper White Cardstock measuring 5 1/4″×1 3/4″ and a piece of Whisper White Cardstock that measures 5 1/4″×3 3/4″. In addition, you will need a decent sized scrap of the Whisper White to die cut the Stitched Rectangle.

After everything was cut, the first thing I did was took my two pieces of 5 1/4″×1 3/4″ Whisper White and stamped the sentiments from the Heartfelt Stamp Set and Forever Blossoms Stamp Set in Momento Black and the small hearts in both Real Red and Flirty Flamingo Ink.

Next, I stamped the sentiment from the Forever Blossoms Stamp Set on my piece of Whisper White Cardstock measuring 5 1/4″×3 3/4″ and adhered my piece of DSSP measuring 5″×1″ to bottom portion of the 5 1/4″×3 3/4″ Whisper White using Multipurpose Liquid Glue. I then glued the pieces of Whisper White Cardstock measuring 5 1/4″×1 3/4″ to the inside sections of the card inside the scored sections of the Cardstock.

Now that the inside of our card is complete, it’s time to turn our focus to the outside portion of our Fun Fold Card. I ran the Rectangular Stitched Die through my Die Cutting Machine. I adhered my 5″×2 1/2″ DSSP to the card front using Multipurpose Liquid Glue. Next I added glue to the top half (*NOTE* – If you add glue to the entire back of your card, your card will not come out right and you may have to start over completely) of the Stitched Rectangle and adhered it about 1/4″ from the top of the DSSP.

I stamped the “Happy Valentine’s Day” sentiment in Real Red Ink and punched it out using the straight edged punch from the Heart Punch Pack and used the scalloped edge punch from the same pack to punch out the glimmer paper.

I adhered the From My Heart Faceted Gems using my Take Your Pick tool and Mini Glue Dots. I added the sentiment heart to the glimmer paper using Stampin’ Diminsionals. I glued the Heart Doilies to the Whisper White Cardstock using Multipurpose Liquid Glue and again raised the glimmer paper up with Stampin’ Diminsionals and sort of eyeball centered it to adhere it down.

At the time I designed this project, I had completely run out of the Real Red Red 3/8″ Double Stitched Ribbon and had to reorder it. Now that it’s in, I wanted to share what a perfect final touch it’s been to this project.

I simply just made the bow and added it to the bottom of the sentiment using a couple of Mini Glue Dots.

Good afternoon! My name is Lori McBride and today I would like to share with you some of the projects that I’ve designed and created using the new From My Heart Suite (Item #153931) featured in Stampin’ Up’s new Mini Catalog. (January 3rd-March 31st) There are three separate projects with instructions in this blog so it is rather lengthy so please bare with me. I try to add just a touch of humor to keep readers interested and I hope that you’ll enjoy! I will attach links to each product at the end of this blog so that readers will know exactly what they need to complete each of these projects. Please leave a comment at the end for a chance to win a special prize from me!

The first and most simple of my projects is this adorable Lollipop Holder. Whether you’re looking for a single something to do for one child or you’re looking to make many for a large group of children, this Lollipop Holder is the perfect solution! For this project, I used Real Red Cardstock measuring 6 1/2″×2 1/4″ and scored at 2 1/2″ and 4″. I used a 2 1/4″× 1 3/4″ piece of the From My Heart Specialty Designer Series Paper. I then stamped the sentiment in Flirty Flamingo using the Heartfelt Stamp Set and used the 1 1/2″ Circle Punch. and added the From My Heart Faceted Dots. I used Mini Glue Dots I popped the sentiment up using Stampin’ Diminsionals I secured the Lollipop Holder together using Tear & Tape Adhesive , I punched holes on both sides of the lollipop using a hole punch and ran the Real Red 3/8″ Double Stitched Satin Ribbon through both holes and tied a bow in the front. I think this was a perfect idea for those upcoming in school Valentine’s Day parties!

Another super cute creation that I came up with for the kid’s Valentine’s Parties are these adorable Valentine’s Belly Bands. For the Belly Bands again I used Real Red Cardstock measuring 6 1/4″×1 3/4″. I used my Take Your Pick Tool to score at 7/8″, 2 3/4″, 3 1/2″ and 5 1/4″. I used the Heart Doilies and used the Scallop Punch from the Heart Punch Pack and Gold Glimmer Paper and the Straight Edged Heart Punch from the same Heart Punch Pack to punch out the pattern from the From My Heart Designer Series Paper. I again used the Heartfelt Stamp Set and Real Red Ink Pad and the 1 1/2″ Circle Punch. There are small hearts on the particular From My Heart Specialty Designer Series Paper in which I added Heart Epoxy Droplets. I layered the Doilie, Glimmer Paper, Designer Series Paper and Circle Punch using Stampin’ Diminsionals and attached the elegant piece to the front of the Belly Band using Multipurpose Liquid Glue. I wrapped the belly band around the box of Conversation Hearts and secured it firmly with Tear & Tape. Again, I used the From My Heart Fauceted Gems and Mini Glue Dots to the sentiment for final touches.

I sort of blooped for my final project using the From My Heart Suite. At the time I designed this project, Stampin’ Up had not announced retiring products from Holiday Catalog quite yet but it is definitely okay as I do have alternate suggestions. For this project, I used the Heart Foil Tins, the Heart Doilies, Heartfelt Stamp Set, Heart Punch Pack, From My Heart Specialty Designer Series Paper, From My Heart Fauceted Gems, Real Red 3/8″ Double Stitched Satin Ribbon and Real Red Glimmer Paper from the Holiday Catalog. Stampin’ Up has discontinued the Real Red Glimmer Paper. I know. I know. But there are still many great options in the 2019-2020 Annual Catalog as far as Glimmer Papers that would still have this project amazing including Gold, Rose Gold, Silver and Sparkle. If you still have some of that beautiful Real Red Glimmer Paper in your stash, (maybe you were like me an it was an instinct buy) than this is the perfect project to use it on! There is only one other minor notation that I’d like to make before diving into how I made this project and that is: The Heart Doilies are only shown in the Catalog as Flirty Flamingo and Real Red but if you flip them over, they’re Whisper White on the other side and so that’s what I did here. Again, I used the scalloped punch on the Glimmer Paper and Straight Line Heart Punch from the Heart Punch Pack from a pattern offered in the From My Heart Specialty Designer Series Paper. I stamped the sentiment from the Heartfelt Stamp Set in Real Red Ink directly in the center of the punched out Designer Series Specialty Paper. I layered everything together using Stampin’ Diminsionals and attached everything to the lid of the Heart Foil Tins using Snail Adhesive. I plan on putting small, individually wrapped, chocolate candies in these foil Tins. Where the other gifts were planned for mass production like a class of 20-30 kids, I plan on making these for the teachers and other appreciated people in my children’s lives.

Everyone knows that Real Red Ink stains the Photopolymer Stamps but did you know that if you use your Simply Shammy (Item #147042) immediately after use and then spray Stampin Mist (Item #102394) immediately following and rewipe, it GREATLY reduces the amount of staining on your stamps?

Welcome to Day 5 of my 7 Projects in 7 Days. Today, I’m bringing back Mr. Kota Koala in this very precious Gift Card Holder using the Birthday Bonanza Suite. (Item #153929)

*Disclosure* This is a project I found online years ago before I was a Stampin’ Up Customer or Demonstrator. I have made this gift card holder dozens of times using Stampin’ Up Products and other products as well although I have not seen it in a long time and have definitely not seen anyone using it with the Birthday Bonanza Suite. I do not remember honestly who I originally obtained the “recipe” for but I will try to back track so that I can give that person the proper credit and recognition that they deserve.

With saying that, this is a super simple gift card holders that is great for those who are just learning or are interested in branching their skills.

To begin, you will need Terracotta Tile Cardstock measuring 8 1/2″ x 3 1/2″. You will need to score it on the 8 1/2″ side at 2″ and at 2 1/2″ on the other end and burnish well with your Bone Folder.

You’re going to need two pieces of Birthday Bonanza Designer Series Paper measuring 3 1/4″× 2 1/4″ and the second piece of DSP measuring 3 1/4″ x 1 3/4″. I adhered the two pieces of DSP to their rightful sections of the Terracotta Tile Cardstock. I stamped the “Happy Birthday” sentiment in Momento Black ink on the inside top flap of the gift card holder.

I created a pocket by using Tear & Tape to the two outside edges on the inside of the Terracotta Tile Cardstock and fold up to adhere.

You’ll need a piece of Daffodil Delight Cardstock measuring 1″×9″ for the Belly Band. You will wrap the Belly Band firmly around the gift card holder and secure with Tear & Tape to secure. *NOTE* You want it firm but you still want it to be able to slide off relatively easily. Too tight and it won’t slide, too loose and it’ll fall off too easily.

I used the 2″ Circle Punch for the inner circle in Grapefruit Grove Cardstock and the 2 1/4″ Circle Punch for the outter circle in Mango Melody. I adhered the two circles together using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

I created Kota the Koala the exact same way that I have in previous Blog Posts. I die cut a scrap piece of Daffodil Delight using the Bonanza Dies and stamped it with Daffodil Delight ink.

I secured Kota the Koala to the Grapefruit Grove Circle using Stampin’ Diminsionals and secured his birthday hat with a Mini Stampin’ Diminsional. I secured his pompom to the top of his hat with Mini Glue Dots.

I stamped the “Let’s celebrate you” sentiment in Momento Black Ink and punched it out using the Classic Label Punch. I secured it to the Belly Band using Mini Glue Dots.

I also used Mini Glue Dots to secure the sequins from the Metallic Baker’s Twine and Sequins Combo Pack.

*On a Personal Note* As I have been creating these projects with the Koala Bears, I can’t help but to think of the devastating brushfires going on in Australia. The brushfires hit close to home as my grandmother was born and raised in Australia. She served in the Australian Army immigrated to the United States in 1946 and became a citizen here. I have spent an astronomical amount of time researching on how to help the wildlife there. At this point, experts believe that more than a billion animals have perished to the brushfires and more expected to perish before the fires are extinguished. They’re concerned that if efforts aren’t made that many wildlife including the Koala could become extinct if drastic measures aren’t taken now to rescue species specific to the continent of Australia.

I finally found a local nonprofit organization located in Dalmeny, Australia named “W.I.R.E.S.” who are putting in best efforts in Australia and have already rescued more than 9,000 animals and are rehabilitating the wildlife. They’ve inspired me to do more. I’ve already made a personal donation but now I’m pledge more to assist their efforts through my Stampin’ Up business in utilizing Stampin’ Up’s “Make A Difference” motto.

Welcome to Day 2 of my 7 Projects in 7 Days! First, I’d like to say that I had so much fun designing and creating this card! It was a lot of work but it was so worth seeing the end result! Coordinating with Day 1, I again used The Birthday Bonanza Suite. I started with our standard A-2 base in Terracotta Tile Cardstock. The Birthday Bonanza DSP measures 5 1/4″ x 4″. I die cut 3 rectangles in Grapefruit Grove, Mango Melody and Daffodil Delight Cardstocks using the Rectangular Stitched Dies. Kota Koala was created the exact same way he was yesterday and today he’s joined by his two friends, Linus the Lion and Tucan Sam! Tucan Sam was stamped in Momento Black Ink, his beak was hand colored with Stampin’ Write Markers in Terracotta Tile, Mango Melody and Daffodil Delight. Linus the Lion was Stamped in both Daffodil Delight (body) and Mango Melody (mane) both were die cut using the Bonanza Dies. Linus the Lion was assembled using Mini Glue Dots and Stampin’ Diminsionals. Kota Koala, Tucan Sam and Linus the Lion were all all popped up using Stampin’ Diminsionals. The balloons were stamped in Terracotta Tile, Daffodil Delight and Mango Melody and were popped up with Stampin’ Diminsionals. The “strings” for the balloons were stamped in Momento Black. The “Let’s celebrate you” sentiment was also stamped in Momento Black and punched out using the Classic Label Punch. The finishing touches were adding a bow using the blue metallic Baker’s Twine and Sequins from the Combo Pack with Mini Glue Dots.

Welcome to Day 1 of my 7 Projects In 7 Days! For my first project, I created this precious Gift Tag using the Birthday Bonanza Suite (Item #153929) from Stampin’ Up’s new Mini Catalog and the Metallic Baker’s Twine & Sequins Pack (Item #152314) from the Sale-a-bration Catalog.

*Disclosure* If I had to do this project over, I would add the sequins to the Shaker Part of the project and save the Pom-Poms for the Koala’s Birthday Hat.

I started with die cutting four of the tags. One from Grapefruit Grove Cardstock, one from Terracotta Tile Cardstock, one from the Birthday Bonanza Designer Series Paper and one out of Window Sheets. On the back panel (Grapefruit Grove) I stamped the “To” and “From” Sentiments in Terracotta Tile Ink. I attached the DSP to the Grapefruit Grove tag. I trimmed Foam Tape around the edges of the DSP. Using the Rectangular Stitched Dies, I die cut the rectangle on the Terracotta Tile Tag. I put a few of the Assorted Pompoms to the center, removed the paper on the Foam Tape and placed the Window Sheet Tag over the foam tape. I adhered the Terracotta Tile Tag to the front of the Window Sheet Tag using Multipurpose Glue. I stamped my friend, Mr. Kota Koala in Smokey Slate ink using the Bonanza Buddies Stamp Set, his eyes, nose and mouth using Momento Black Ink and used the Bonanza Dies to die cut him out. I stamped his birthday hat in Grapefruit Grove Ink and again used the Bonanza Die Set to die cut the birthday hat. I ran a fair amount of the Daffodil Delight 1/4″ Ruched Ribbon through the holes provided with the Tag Die and tied a knot at the base. I used a small amount of the Metallic Baker’s Twine and tied a bow at the base. I attached the sequins to the top of the hat using glue dots. I popped Kota the Koala up using Stampin’ Diminsionals and also popped up his hat. Isn’t he precious?! I love Koala Bears!!

Now, as I’m putting this shaker together, I’m thinking, “Oh yeah! This is going to work!” My hopes quickly turned to “Doh!” Where it is super cute, the Assorted Pompoms really are just slightly too big and do not shake real well inside in the tag but we live and learn! It was most definitely worth a shot!

What can I say? Of all of the new products Parisian Blossoms (Item #153934) is my favorite of the new Suites available in the 2020 Mini Catalog! I adore it so much that I keep calling it “Parisian Dreams” even though I know that’s not correct! I couldn’t wait to get this beautiful Suite in my hands and start playing with it right away! Through some of my brainstorming, I came up with a brilliant idea to use some of the Rose Gold Shimmer Paint from the Everything Is Rosy Product Medley (Item #150059) and the results were stunning!

To make the box I used a sheet of 8 1/2″×11″ Petal Pink Cardstock (Item #146985) and scored on the 11″ side at 1 1/2″, 5 1/4″, 6 3/4″ and 10 1/2″.

Rotate your cardstock to the 8 1/2″ side and score at 1/2″ on each end and remove small sections of 1/2″ section using Paper Snips. (Item # 103579) Cut up to score lines and trim small flaps.

Angle cut 1/2″ sides and large flaps.

Add Tear And Tape (Item # 138995) to 4 small flaps

Use 1″ Circle Punch (Item #119868) to create a punch mark where the box opens.

Trim a sheet of Whisper White Cardstock (Item #100730) down to 5 1/4″x3 1/2″. Emboss it using the Parisian Flourish 3D Embossing Folder.

Placing your embossed Cardstock on your Silicone Craft Sheet (Item #127853) and your Sponge Daubers (Item #133773) apply your Rose Gold Shimmer Paint from your Everything Is Rosy Product Medley and set aside to dry.

Cut your 8 1/2″×11″ Pool Party Cardstock (Item # 122924) down to 2 1/2″×4 3/4″ and your Champagne Foil down to 2 3/4″×4 3/4″. Using your Parisian Beauty Stamp Set stamp the long letters sentiment down the 2 1/2″×4 3/4″ Pool Party Cardstock using your Pool Party Classic Ink Pad (Item #147107). Adhere the Champagne Foil and Pool Party Cardstock together using Multipurpose Liquid Glue. (Item #110755) I used the Parisian dies to die cut the Eiffel Tower out of the Champagne Foil and used my Take Your Pick Tool with the Die Brush Attachment to remove the pieces. I also used the Parisian Dies to die cut the “Amour” title for the box. Before doing final assembly, I adhered the Petal Pink 1/4″ Metallic Ribbon using Mini Glue Dots and tied a bow. I adhered everything to the box using Multipurpose Liquid Glue and attached a few Champagne Rhinestone Basic Jewels for the finishing touch.

Hello, my name is Lori McBride and recently I became a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator. To tell you a little bit about myself, I’ve been a paper crafter for nearly 15 years and was a Stampin’ Up! Customer for nearly 5 years. I became a Demonstrator in August as a hobbyist but am interested in growing and turning my hobby into a business. I’m happily married to my husband, Rusty, for 13 years and we have three grown children. We have four fur babies. Two dogs and two cats and they are my Craft Companions. Pickle (dog – age 13 years), Tuna (cat – age 4 years), Bitty (cat – age 1 year) and our newest addition, Willa (dog – age 10 months). My degree was in dental but (as life often does) has thrown a few curve balls and so my current occupation (aside from Stampin’ Up Demonstrator) is a Farmhand working on a local farm that does field trips for children throughout the year and sells a variety of pumpkins in the fall and Christmas trees. I volunteer quite a bit of time with my son’s Autism group amongst many other causes that are dear and true to my heart.
