Tribute to the Troops 2

Good morning and welcome to another edition of Cards and Creations by Lori McBride and our monthly Team Stamp It Blog Hop. My name is Lori McBride and I’m a Stampin’ Up! Independent Demonstrator from Joshua,TX. This month the theme for our Hop is Christmas In July!!

Today’s card has a great amount of meaning aside from it’s simplicity as this is set 2 that will be going out to service men and women away from their family and friends this holiday season. This is my 10th year participating in Tribute to the Troops and it’s been a great honor and true privilege.

Aside from it’s very simple appearance, there are actually 4 Stamp Sets used to create this project and it’s a beautiful combination of both brand new products from the July-December Mini Catalog as well as a couple carryover favorites.

*Instructions*

The Cardbase is our standard A2 Cardbase measuring 4 1/4″x 11″ scored at 5 1/2″ I cut a 2″ piece of the Peaceful Prints DSP and adhered it to the front of the card using Stampin’ Seal adhesive and stamped the snowflake images in Momento Black Ink using the Snowflake Wishes Stamp Set. I stamped the “Merry Christmas” sentiment in Real Red Classic Ink using the Holly Jolly Wishes Stamp Set.

The inside card base is a bit more complex with using the “with gratitude” and “from our family” sentiments from the Heartfelt Wishes Stamp Set in both Momento Black and Real Red Inks. I also added a partial stamp of the Christmas tree image from the Delivering Cheer Stamp Set in Evening Evergreen Ink. The inside Cardbase is our standard 4″ x 5 1/4″ in Basic White Cardstock.

Each card does have a handwritten message from me thanking each and every service member for their dedication to our country with thoughts of a safe return home in the new year.
