Soar Confidently Birthday Card

Good morning and welcome to another edition of Cards and Creations by Lori McBride. My name is Lori McBride and I’m a Stampin’ Up Independent Demonstrator from Joshua,TX.

Today, I’d like to share with you a card that I created using the *Soar Confidently Stamp Set* from the January-June Mini Catalog.

The Color Combination that I used today is Evening Evergreen, Sahara Sand, Blackberry Bliss and Very Vanilla.

A little while back, I ended up having to share his Father’s Day Card early because I used the now retired Seaside Spray. Unfortunately, at the time I created the card, I forgot to write down all of my measurements and ended up publishing the blog without measurements and promised I’d remake the card and actually provide measurements.

*NOTE*

Before I provide you with measurements, I’d like to disclose that this was not an easy card to make. I’m providing you with the measurements that worked best for me and I did have to use my paper snips to trim down pieces to make it work.

Step 1: Stamp the compass and the birds on the Very Vanilla Cardstock in Sahara Sand Ink and allow to dry.

Step 2: Use the Blending Brushes and Evening Evergreen Ink blend evenly over over the Cardstock starting at the outside edges and working your way inward.

Step 3: Using your Stampin’ Trimmer, cut into 3/4″ strips. Discard 5th strip it’s too small to use.

*TIP*

If you decide you’d like to add more color once you’ve cut into strips, you can use a sponge dauber to add a bit more color to the edges.

Step 4: Using Multipurpose Liquid Glue, glue the strips to the Blackberry Bliss Mount Base Cardstock leaving a hint of space equally between each strip.

*TIP*

I laid the pieces out on the Blackberry Bliss first to arrange the space needed and then glued the two outer pieces first making the two inner pieces easier to align.

Step 6: On a separate, fair sized scrap of Very Vanilla, stamp the hot air balloon image in Momento Black Ink and allow to dry. Cut a 1/4″ strip from the bottom and set aside.

Step 7: Hand color the hot air balloon using the Stampin’ Blend Markers and allow to dry thoroughly. Hand color the basket, stars and other panels of the hot air balloon using the Sahara Sand Stampin’ Write Markers.

Step 8: Fussy cut the hot air balloon add Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back top portion of the hot air balloon but do not expose the Dimensionals just yet. Set aside.

Step 9: On that 1/4″ strip, stamp the “wonderful man” sentiment in Sahara Sand Ink. Allow to dry and flip over. Add Seal Adhesive to the back and place Faux Suede Ribbon directly in the adhesive. Use snips to trim. Repeat at bottom. Add Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back and adhere in place on the Mount Base.

Step 10: Add just a few of the 2021-2023 In Color Rhinestones using your Take Your Pick Tool.

Thank you so much for joining me today. I hope that you’ve enjoyed this tutorial and will join me again for another edition soon.

Until next time – Happy Stampin Everyone!
